This Kempinski property is a behemoth resort replete with ballrooms, club lounges, no less than 3 pools, an 'underwater' restaurant and a chapel, in short a one-stop address in Bali fully equipped for your conventions and conventional holiday needs. The rooms are luxuriously decked though, as one can expect from a Kempinski hotel, and we highly recommend the pool junior suite on a high floor with enviable views of the dramatic vistas this property affords. With 256 rooms, 176 suites,43 villas and 8 restaurants and bar and a full fletch spa, the service orientation is bound to take a hit, in case you are arriving with sky-high expectations, but in the midst of such luxurious facilities with a battalion of staff manning the fort, one can still pretty much live it up at this colossal haven.

Book in advance a table at Koral, Apurva Kempinski's insanely popular 'underwater' restaurant where one can dine on delectable seafood courses with creatures of the realm peering through from the side. One might think of this as gimmicky and reductive but having visited twice, we can happily vouch for the standard and quality of the cuisine delivered here .

There are plenty of dining options in this mammoth complex and we are happy to report that they are all worth a visit for the delectable cuisine they offer. Izakaya by Oku is the Balinese branch of the famed Oku restaurant in Jakarta and dishes out delectable modern Japanese fares that are a welcome alternative from Balinese staples. Pala Restaurant serves extensive buffets over lunch and dinner while L'Atelier by Cyril Kongo serves up Mediterranean flavours in a casual setting.

Bai Yun is a rare establishment on the island, serving up hybrid versions of popular Chinese hotpots that though not entire authentic in taste, are still good renditions on account of the premium ingredients featured in the menu.
