This joyous trip will start with a comprehensive guided tour to traditional new year revelries in Kyoto 2 days prior to the coming of the new age, culminating into a fun-filled night of Omisoka (NYE) feasting and Oshogetsu (NY) Hatsumode (temple traipsing) at the stroke of midnight. More sightseeing and festive celebrations will follow the auspicious start, including an overnight visit to scenic Arashiyama and a 2-nights trip to snowy Takayama where much can be learnt of ancient Japan in this beautifully authentic medieval town. The trip ends with a bang with a stay at one of Kyoto’s most renowned traditional ryokan capped with a sumptuous Kaiseki dinner.
