An old hand at creating culinary impressions, The Marriott Tang Plaza is a gourmet hotspot with several excellent restaurants ​under its roof. Marriott Cafe is perpetually packed with fans of its highly popular buffets. Wan Hao is one of Singapore's best Chinese restaurant for its innovative and masterful interpretations of Yue classics. The sirloin steak at Pool Grill is a delicious draw, especially if it's accompanied by the yummy beer battered potato fritters with truffle salt.

Generally good but at check-in the duty manager was somewhat taciturn and rigid when he could and should be understanding and accommodating. First impressions count.

Though recently renovated, this singular property retained much of its original character in spite of the remodeled rooms and refreshed public space. The cosmetic updates are necessary given its age and the industry's competitive index but when it boils down to the verity of foresight, Mr CK Tang's initial gambit on a parcel of land right across from a Chinese cemetery will be paying off handsomely for many more years to come.
