Naked Castle Moganshan

The brandchild of husband and wife dynamic duo - South African entrepreneur Grant Horsfield and Hong Kong born architect Delphine Yip, this is a highland haven that melds imagination with intimacy.

Gourmet & Wellness + + +

The nosh at Naked Bite is largely Asian, delicious and play second fiddle to the stunning views of the rolling greens that come with each meal. Pao Tai Lou is a quintessentially Cantonese restaurant but adds regional favours to its menu as well. We particularly enjoyed the hearty black tofu stew. The mountain cabin milieu of the Naked Leaf Spa here instantly sets one in the mood for hours of pampering treatments.

Service + + +

Top notch service from staff who constantly make it a point to accommodate and impress. The volume of Chinese guests 'visiting' the property is a gross intrusion for stay-in guests, some venturing as far as your door asking to step inside for a view.

Design + + +

Originally an abandoned castle, it was revived by boutique hotelier Naked Retreats with 1 spa, 2 restaurants and 95 luxurious rooms, many boasting gorgeous views of the stunning mountain range. Our favourite rooms are the cliff-side suites that come with an oversized bathtub set before unforgettable vistas. The whimsically themed castle suites (dungeon and gangster amongst others) are purportedly the most popular with return visitors.
