Mandapa A

Ritz Carlton Reserve

Ubud   Bali

Mysterious, serene and impossibly luxurious, Mandapa is a sprawling retreat carved from the meanders and expanse of the Balinese interiors, a bucolic escape that calls to earth-huggers and the jet set alike. For a Ritz Carlton Reserve of just 60 suites and villas, Mandapa feels like a behemoth property with way more keys - one arrives here to an imposing stone entrance, a towering lobby, a full scale spa, a couple of public pools, a network of extensive pathways, a kid's club with an adjoining farm and farm animals, -oh-so-many restaurants and naturally a battalion of butlers who labour tirelessly day and night to link the dots  for guests who'd otherwise be lost in the grand expanse of operations here. Factor in the padi patchworks, the pulsating river and the the endless swathes of primordial splendour, and one is wont to believe that heaven is indeed a place on earth.

While at Mandapa a Ritz Carlton Reserve,
why don't you ...

  • Opinions are quite divided on the choice of your personal shell here - some absolutely love the views the suites afford but we think if it is seclusion you crave, the pool villas are perfect little worlds unto themselves made more perfect by the tireless orchestrations of the fabulous butlers.

  • The current GM of the property had his hospitality craft honed in FnB so suffice to say there are plenty of gourmet options here to indulge the fussiest of palates. Sawah Terrace serves rustic Balinese with elevated presentation Kubu imports into the island the refined fares of the Mediterranean. For a fun 'night out' look no further than Ambar where one can lounge around with spirited cocktails at sunset and tuck into some fusion Japanese bar grub, served with Ritz Carlton panache of course, to end the night on a deliciously high note.

  • The Mandapa Spa was raised right next to the Ayung river and some of the treatment suites are so close to the waterway the gushing of the meanders become part of the therapy. Excellent hydro facilities facing the Ayung are also part of the luxuriating facilities here.

  • In the haven that caters to your own microcosm, opt for private dining experiences that promise to be out of this world. Such affairs aren't new in Bali, but the ones they stage here never get old.
