Langkawi

Parkroyal's arrival on Langkawi is well-timed for the island on its recovery upswing. For a brand adroit at catering to families and large groups, the facilities here did not disappoint - there are 2 restaurants, a jungle camp for kids, a games room for teenagers, an intimate spa, several free-form pools plus a rooftop 'Sky Pool' catering to adults only. It makes a splendid choice for a travel segment attuned to crowded spaces which in turn would appear less ideal to another with a penchant for intimacy and privacy. Striking architectural details notwithstanding, the property can still benefit from lusher gardens and horticultural flourishes, which have become significant facets for the brand. If only the iron bars encasing the rooms and corridors could all be glass panels, what a beauty this property would be!

While at Parkroyal Langkawi
why don't you ...

  • Check into a Premier Ocean View with Private Pool Room, which, perched at the top floor of the building, offers the best view of the Strait of Malacca which the property faces.

  • F&B usually is a strong suit of a Parkroyal hotel but probably due to the newness of this property, many aspects of its F&B line-up, from service to ingredients to presentation, can be improved. The weekend beach BBQ dinner is highly enjoyable though and worth a booking.

  • Suasana Spa is remarkably managed, offering capably rendered massages on comfortable heated massage decks. Diminutive in space the spa may be but the effort by the team to impress with service is highly laudable.
